Join guest instructor and expert botanist, Margie Hunter, as we learn how to utilize native plants in your garden. Wise gardening choices in residential and commercial landscapes help ensure the health and survival of local wildlife as well as ourselves. Includes a tour of some of the native plants utilized around the farm including in our children’s garden. Margie Hunter is the author of Gardening with the Native Plants of Tennessee: The Spirit of Place. $40 per person. 10:00 – 11:30am Limit 20.
Margie Hunter is a writer and author of Gardening with the Native Plants of Tennessee: The Spirit of Place. She is a member (and former Secretary) of the Tennessee Native Plant Society, a founding board member and secretary of the Tennessee Naturalist Program, and a member of the Tennessee Invasive Plant Council. She also volunteers with the Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage in the Smoky Mountains, and has been hiking the Appalachian Trail.
