“All About Herbs” Class with Cindy Shapton, the Cracked Pot Gardener
Sunday afternoon, May 1st, 2 -4 pm
Cost: $35

In this class, Cindy will show you how Herbs are all around us and completely at home in lawns, woods, flowerbeds, kitchen gardens, rooftops and containers. She will shed new light on the way you look at these unique and useful plants. Get inspired as you learn how to incorporate herbs into your everyday life. She will also discuss the following topics:

  • Herbs make great companions in your garden – not only are beautiful and edible but can be great neighbors in the kitchen garden building helpful relationships with vegetables. These neighbors work hard keeping bad guys at bay while hosting beneficial insects to help keep everything in balance and naturally free of pesticides.
  • Herbs have a Secret Life! They are multi-faceted plants with many uses that may surprise you.
  • Simple Medicinal Herbs – let’s talk about which herb brewed in a cup of tea, chopped into your salad, or applied topically can benefit you and your family naturally. She will show you how to make a comfrey salve that has healing properties to soothe inflamed skin.
  • Keep boring out of the kitchen with the use of herbs from the garden. From cooking to cleaning to sipping tea with a friend, herbs make everything better!

If you would like to purchase Cindy’s “Cracked Pot Herb Book” the cost will be $15 and she will offer these at the end of the session.
