SUMMARY:Kid's Class: Mycology - the Magic of Mushrooms
DESCRIPTION:Kid’s Class: Mycology – the Magic of Mushrooms\nNovember 12\, 2-3:30 pm.\nCost $25 per child\, parents and grandparents are FREE\n\n\n\n\n  \nMushrooms are a kind of fungus that usually look like umbrellas and grow in places like yards\, forests\, fields\, and gardens. \nDid you know? \n\nBecause mushrooms are a fungus and not a plant\, they don’t make their own food.\nThey don’t even need sunlight to grow! Imagine what it would be like to live in the dark all the time!\nMushrooms absorb the nutrients they need from the dead and rotting plants and animals where they live.\nMost of the fungus is actually growing underneath the ground which is beneficial to trees by sharing nutrients\nMushrooms can help prevent cancer and a great source of vitamin D.\n\nLearn all about the life cycle of our fungi friends and go on a mushroom hike in the Stoney Creek Farm woods!
