SUMMARY:Foraging: Wild Edible Series
DESCRIPTION:Stoney Creek Farm Wild Edibles Series\nFebruary 15\, 2026\, 1:00-3:00\nMarch 15\, 2026\, 1:00-3:00\nApril 19\, 2026\, 1:00-3:00\nRegistration Link \nForaging is a year-round adventure in Tennessee. This series\, with life-long forager Pandy Upchurch\, will explore the many wild edibles that are available even in winter. We will explore\nedible roots\, seasonal greens and the wonderful abundance of nuts found in our deciduous woods. If we are lucky\, even mushrooms may find their way onto our menu. We will also\ndiscuss how to preserve wild edibles to have stores throughout the year. Since each class is unique and covers different edibles\, participants may register for one or all three classes. The cost is $40/person per class.  Classes are geared towards adults but older children are welcome to attend.  We will enjoy tasting wild edibles and exploring around the farm.\n\nPlease contact Cori Williams at cori.williams@gmail.com with any questions about this foraging series.

SUMMARY:How to Make Your Own Bone Broth
DESCRIPTION:How to Make Your Own Bone Broth:  step by step.\nDate: Saturday\, February 28\, 2026\nTime: 10 – 11:30 am\nCost:  $45\nincludes instructions\, all supplies\, and a pint of bone broth to take home with you! \nREGISTER HERE\nWhat Is Bone Broth and Why Does It Matter?\nFirst\, let’s get a little clarity on what bone broth is and why you should care. Bone broth is not the same as a quick broth made by simmering meat or vegetables for a short time. Rather\, it’s closer to a deeply rendered stock\, made by cooking bones (often with connective tissue and cartilage) in water. You might add a little vinegar or acid to pull minerals out. You can also drop in some aromatics for flavor. \nIt’s a pretty lengthy process\, too. Simmer times vary by recipe\, but they usually range from 12 to 24 hours. This lets more nutrients\, collagen\, gelatin\, and minerals to leach into the liquid. \nHere’s a breakdown of some of the potential benefits of bone broth. \n1. Protein\, Amino Acids\, and Building Blocks for the Body\n2. Gut Health and Digestive Support\n3. Joint\, Bone\, and Connective Tissue Support\n4. Hydration and Electrolytes\nAmong the more alluring benefits attributed to broth are improved skin elasticity\, better sleep\, and even enhanced mood or cognitive clarity. \nBecause collagen (and the amino acids that come from it) plays such an important role in skin\, hair\, and connective tissues\, some people believe regular broth consumption can maintain skin tone and reduce signs of aging. \nOthers highlight amino acids like glycine as calming\, possibly helping with sleep or stress. For example\, some people say that sipping warm broth at bedtime can soothe the nervous system. \nHow to Make Your Own Bone Broth:  step by step.\nDate: Saturday\, February 28\, 2026\nTime: 10 – 11:30 am\nCost:  $45\nincludes instructions\, all supplies\, and a pint of bone broth to take home with you! \nREGISTER HERE
