DESCRIPTION:Canning 101:  Preserve Your Own Healthy Food\nSaturday\, August 5\, 2023\n10 am – 12 noon\nCost $40\, which includes all supplies and instructions\n\n\n\n\nIn the Canning 101 Class\, Leigh Funderburk will teach you the lost art of how to preserve your own healthy food (and why you should)\, so you can know exactly what you are eating and experience the nutrition you were meant to receive!  Preserving food is a valuable sustainable skill that you can teach your kids and grandkids.  If future pandemics occur\, your canned goods will provide you and your family with healthy food to eat all year round.  In this 2-hour canning class\, we will share recipes and taste pickles\, jams\, and jellies\, while learning how to stock your pantry.   It’s easy and satisfying to preserve your garden bounty or make your own special gifts to share with others. \nCanning 101 is an actual live demonstration of the following topics: \nPressure Canning for non-acidic foods (like green beans\, meats\, etc)\nWater Bath Canning for sweet and acidic foods (like tomatoes\, jams\, and pickles)\nBlanching for the Freezer\nAlso discussed are all the processes for Jelly & Jams\, Pickling\, and Drying Herbs and fruit.  You will also be able to see all the ingredients and equipment needed to preserve almost every type of product for your pantry or freezer! \nIf you have questions or need further information\, simply email Leigh at stoneycreekfarmtennessee@gmail.com

DESCRIPTION:Fall 2023 – Spring 2024 Monday Homeschool Enrichment\nThe Monday 9 am – 1 pm class is FULL.  There are still spots available in the afternoon 1-3 pm class. \nRegistration Link:  https://form.jotform.com/coriwilliams/2023-Monday-HomeSchoolEnrichment\nAre you looking for an affordable homeschool enrichment program that blends kids’ learning with the ability to network with other homeschool parents?  Then Monday Homeschool Enrichment is the answer! \nOur Monday Enrichment is a 2-hour program for ages 3 -13 on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month from 9 – 11 am and 1 – 3 pm.  The first hour is a class for the kids in an all-outdoor setting with nature and sustainable living topics. You can often find her exploring in the woods\, hiking in the\nmountains\, or getting her hands dirty in the garden. As a certified preschool teacher\, she most\nrecently served as the Assistant Director of the First Presbyterian Preschool Program in Franklin\, TN.\nCori studied Early Childhood Special Education at Vanderbilt University and Early Childhood\nDevelopment at Nashville State. During her time at Vanderbilt\, she received the prestigious Peabody\nInnovation Award for developing a program to help poor inner-city families. She worked for the\nKidTalk Project serving area Head Start centers as a behavior and language interventionist. Other\ncareers have included Graphic Artist at a local financial institution for over 10 years\, and manager of a\nlocal animal shelter. Cori is a certified Tennessee Naturalist and currently serves on the board of the\nTennessee Naturalist Program. She and her 11-year-old son are native Nashvillians and are\nconstantly seeking new opportunities and adventures!
